The journey of UAsk began with the initial chatbot established in 2018 for U.ae, the official United Arab Emirates government portal. This early version, while a pioneering step, offered limited functionality and did not fully meet user expectations. Recognizing this, we embarked on an improvement action plan aimed at providing a better solution for the public.

The significant turning point occurred in late 2022 with the integration of generative AI capabilities, leading to an extensive upgrade of UAsk to leverage ChatGPT's advanced features. This upgrade marked a substantial leap forward and the initial phase of UAsk was launched in May 2023. To further enhance its service, a more sophisticated iteration of UAsk was introduced in July 2023. This latest version expanded its functionalities, fundamentally transforming the user experience and firmly establishing UAsk as a leader in digital governance innovation. Adding to this remarkable progress, UAsk has been honoured with the prestigious Gartner Eye on Innovation Awards for Government, 2023. An achievement that marks a significant milestone, showcasing the brilliance and innovation of the UAE on an international platform.
