DGOV Celebrates the Success of TDRA's 9th Virtual Camp, Fostering Innovation and Digital Skills

The Digital Government (DGOV) proudly acknowledges the successful conclusion of the 9th edition of the ‘TDRA Virtual Camp’. Held from 7th to 18th August 2023, the camp witnessed the participation of 2,700 students aged between 7 and 18 years, demonstrating an ever-growing interest in technology and innovation.

H.E. Eng. Majed Sultan Al Mesmar, TDRA Director General, joined the virtual closing ceremony celebrating the achievements and creative ideas of the young participants. H.E. Al Mesmar commended the camp's success, noting the significant increase in trainee numbers, reaching 30,000 since its inception in 2015. He highlighted, "With the conclusion of the 9th edition of this initiative, which always renews our happiness with the achievements and creative ideas that address the emerging technology that shape the features of our future life, I assure our students that there is no limit to creativity, that tomorrow holds limitless opportunities, and that we, at TDRA, are committed to making every effort to pave the way towards the future of knowledge".

This year's edition saw the implementation of over 3,300 projects, a more than 20% increase from the previous year. These projects included practical applications in artificial intelligence, machine learning, and generative AI (including ChatGPT), along with awareness sessions on safe technology use and sustainable tech advantages. The camp also provided extensive technical support and live broadcasting sessions to guide and respond to students' queries.

In the closing ceremony, outstanding students were honoured for their innovative projects. In the 7-12 age group, the student Obaid Abdullah Al Suwaidi won the gold medal, the student Lamar Muhammad Hamza won the silver medal, and the student Rawda Muhammad Al Mansouri won the bronze medal. As for the 13-18 age group, student Mansour Muhammad Al-Shibli won the gold medal, student Taif Ahmed Abdel Jalil won the silver medal, and student Aousha Khaled Al-Muhairthe won the bronze medal.

The TDRA Virtual Camp, a cornerstone of TDRA’s community awareness initiatives, aims to spread digital literacy and foster a spirit of innovation among the youth. Conducted biannually in summer and winter, these camps focus on modern technologies and skills crucial for the younger generation's academic and professional development.

DGOV's commitment to nurturing young talent is evident in the upcoming season of TDRA Virtual Camp, set to begin on 18th December 2023. This initiative, driven by DGOV, offers young minds further opportunities to explore and excel in the digital realm.
