We are responsible for developing policies and regulations that enable and enhance digital transformation in the UAE. These policies aim to enhance a culture of government excellence, raise the efficiency of government performance within the digital government program scope, and leverage technology to improve economic growth.
By measuring digital transformation, we aim to raise the level of digital government services quality and presence in order to enhance the smart lifestyle in the UAE. It can promote healthy competition among federal entities in terms of their digital services and presence.
We are responsible for supporting infrastructure and strategies that drives effective transformation processes for the UAE government entities by implementing digital enablers. TDRA spearheaded the development of the National Plan and the implementation of more than 12 critical initiatives referred to herein as Digital Enablers to achieve UAE Smart Government Goals.
Core to the digital government infrastructure is the Federal Network (FEDnet). With the mission to deliver smart government services efficiently and securely, FEDnet facilitates a technology infrastructure to strengthen coherence, improve operational excellence, and provide on-demand network access to a shared pool of configurable computing resources for all federal government entities.
We provide a service of exchanging experience and advice to various government entities wishing to obtain consultations in several fields, including information security, systems, architecture design, infrastructure and development.
The .ae Domain Administration is the regulatory body that sets and enforces all operational policies for the Registry System. It manages the country’s top-level UAE domains including (.ae) and ".امارات" (dotEmarat).
We design programs to develop the employees’ capabilities in the government and private sectors and provide them with the necessary skills to design innovative digital services, provide an exceptional customer experience, and lead the digital transformation within a designed and systematic framework. In addition, we support young talents and stimulate their abilities through camps and workshops.
Internet Access Management (IAM) defines and regulates access to the internet throughout the UAE. By using the latest technologies and processes, IAM monitors and controls network access based on the content to protect end-users from harmful and illegal websites.
We have partnered with the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) to establish an International Center of Digital Innovation, known as I-CoDI. The center helps ITU Members, Sector Members and other key stakeholders to integrate innovation into their national development agendas and activities.
I-CoDI builds on CoDI, the Centre of Digital Innovation (CoDI) launched by the UAE in 2013, as part of the UAE’s efforts in digital transformation and enhancing the digital journey of the UAE citizens and Government, through research, innovation, skills development, and of advisory services.
The National Digital Transformation Committee of UAE orchestrates the whole-of-government approach towards the role of technology in government activities at a national level. It ensures political support for adopting more strategic approaches in leveraging the use of technology.
